A French Jewish girl has joined Islamic State (IS), according to a security official in France.
The official, who gave the tip-off anonymously because French rules forbid him from discussing ongoing investigations, said that the girl was one of at least 100 women who have been recruited in the past few weeks.
Somewhere between 20 and 50 British girls have also recently become members of IS.
These women are reportedly being radicalised and persuaded to join the terrorist group so they can help IS put down roots by becoming wives, babysitters and housekeepers.
The girl has joined the extremist movement despite IS previously vowing to "fight the barbaric Jews and kill those of them hiding behind the gharqad trees - the trees of the Jews".
IS persecutes those who do not believe in its ideals, and has been accused of war crimes including mass murders and widespread sexual violence. The jihadi outfit now controls large swathes of Iraq and Syria.
