A teacher from the Israeli settlement of Har Bracha in the West Bank was stabbed to death by a Palestinian assailant on Monday.
Rabbi Itamar Ben Gal, who was waiting at a bus stop near the town of Ariel for a ride home, tried to call out for help but collapsed shortly after being attacked by the man.
An ambulance evacuated him in critical condition and he was pronounced dead later in Beilinson Hospital near Tel Aviv.
An off-duty IDF officer tried to hit the fleeing assailant with his car but the stabber managed to get to a nearby vehicle, which sped away.
