The Hamas terrorist organisation said on Monday that its leader in Lebanon, Fateh Sherif Abu el-Amin, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Tyre area in the south of the country.

Several of his family members were also killed in the attack, according to the Gaza-based group.

Also on Monday, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) announced that three of its terror operatives were killed in an Israel airstrike overnight Sunday in Beirut.

The strike targeted the upper floor of an apartment building in a residential neighbourhood of the Kola district in the centre of the Lebanese capital, according to Lebanese media reports.
