An Israeli family has been arrested in the besieged Ukrainian city of Melitopol by Russian forces for reportedly trying to film clashes between Ukrainian and Russian troops.

The family, consisting of two parents and a daughter were arrested by Russian troops and released shortly after.

Contact with the family had been lost and relatives in Israel became concerned for their safety.

According to the Jerusalem post, Israel's ambassador to Ukraine, Michael Brodsky confirmed the family's arrest in the Southern Ukrainian city and said that he had "conveyed the correct message required for the family's release."
