A Muslim extremist couple convicted of planning a terrorist attack were planning to kill Jewish children, court documents have revealed.
Canadians Amanda Korody and John Nuttall were found guilty last month of planning to detonate bombs outside the British Columbia legislature during Canada Day celebrations in 2013, when thousands of people would have been present.
Notes taken by undercover police show that the Muslim converts also planned to attend a synagogue and become trusted members before killing children in the congregation to save them from hell.
Korody believed that “grown-up Jews” go to “eternal hell” when they die.
The officer added: “I asked Nuttall how he thinks he will have access to Jewish kids and he said [he and his wife] were both white and could pass for Jewish.
“They will be regulars in the synagogue. They will gain the trust of everybody. And once they have everything they will get enough guns and ammo to go ahead with their mission.”
The extremists’ lawyers told the Supreme Court in British Columbia that police had entrapped the couple, encouraging them to commit acts of terror during an official sting operation.
The trial continues.
