One of Britain’s biggest kosher food producers has apologised after it received complaints about the quality of its matzah.

Dozens of complaints on a Pesach Facebook recipes group said that Rakusen’s kosher for Pesach matzah was thin, brittle and brown and not up to the company’s usual standard.

In response to the complaints, the Leeds-based firm said it was “shocked and saddened to discover some of our kosher for Passover matzos have fallen below our usual high standards.

“This has understandably caused a lot of frustration for all of those that were looking forward to enjoying Rakusen’s matzo this Passover.
