A performer at the Super Bowl has been detained by police in New Orleans after unveiling a combined Sundanese-Palestinian flag during Kendrick Lamar’s half-time show.
The dancer stood on top of a car used as a prop in Lamar’s performance and raised the flags which had the words "Sudan" and "Gaza" written on them.
Security rushed to grab the protestor and escort him out of the venue during the US rapper’s performance.
The NFL confirmed that the performer was a member of the 400-person cast of the half-time show. The show continued without interruption, and it did not appear that the person was shown on the TV broadcast of Lamar’s performance.
“The individual hid the item on his person and unveiled it late in the show," the NFL said.

"No one involved with the production was aware of the individual's intent."
NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy confirmed in an email statement that the “individual will (be) banned for life from all NFL stadiums and events”.
The New Orleans Police Department said officials were "working to determine applicable charges in this incident".
The entertainment company responsible for producing the half-time show, Roc Nation, said the stunt "was not planned nor part of the production and was never in any rehearsal”.
The Super Bowl, the biggest game of the American football calendar, saw the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22, denying them an unprecedented third consecutive Super Bowl victory.
Donald Trump became the first sitting US president to attend the show.
