Former Ku Klux Klan chief David Duke says he is supporting anti-Israel protesters who will “save us from Jewish supremacism.”
And pro-Palestine activists are being called out online for having common ground with the far-right group after he showed up to support extremists at a convention in Detroit.
Duke, 73, is a self-proclaimed white supremacist and ex-Grandwizard of the KKK who was attending the far-right America First Political Action Conference (AFPAC) led by white supremacist and Holocaust denier Nicholas Fuentes.
As the event was abruptly called off after staff at the event space told Fuentes he wasn’t welcome, Duke shared his thoughts on the pro-Palestinian marches with political commentator and undercover journalist Cam Higby.
He said: “I support Nick and all his work … and all the people who are working to save our country and save us from Jewish supremacism. We’re being genocided just like the Palestinians.”
When asked if he is friends with Fuentes, Duke replies, “I consider him a comrade in the fight for our people.”
And many X users warned that anti-Israel activists should be concerned that they have shared goals with a member of the KKK.
The National Jewish Assembly tweeted: “If David Duke is on your side, you know you are on the wrong side.”
Joining Duke at the event were activists behind some of the biggest Pro-Palestine accounts on X including MMA fighter and far-right supporter Jake Shields, Suleiman Ahmed and Lucas Gage.
Duke was also spotted having a sit down with Suleima, who is a UK graduate student with an X following of 554,000 which has drastically increased from 88,000 since September 2023.
Since October 7 Ahmed has shared thousands of updates on his account, including giving vastly higher numbers of deaths in Gaza than official estimates as well as posting gruesome footage of the conflict
