The head of governors at a Jewish primary school was driven to seek police protection after parents and activists bombarded her with threats over the institution’s perceived connection to Israel, the JC can reveal.

Simone Bryant, who resigned from King David in Birmingham last July citing the toughest period of her 13-year tenure, said her school was labelled “genocidal” and accused of child abuse.

Another school, King Solomon High in Redbridge, east London, cancelled its October 7 memorial following a claim that it was “forcing Zionist propaganda down the throats of the students”.

Both schools have large numbers of Muslim parents, though only a minority have been hostile.

Bryant said she would never forgive the parents who “drove a wedge” into a once harmonious community and tried “to pull the fabric of the school down”.

Division have been stoked by a few radicals online, according to the Community Security Trust, which said the campaign was “being driven by extremists with a long record of hostile behaviour and in some cases open antisemitism”.

Notorious anti-Zionist David Miller, who has 79,000 followers on X, wrongly claimed pupils at King David were made to sing Hatikvah each morning, which he said was “abuse of Muslim and Jewish children alike”.

Miller has long campaigned for the “de-Zionisation” of Jewish schools.

Responding to a request for comment, the Department for Education said: “This government has zero tolerance for antisemitism. Children and staff should feel safe when they are at school and we stand ready to offer support to Jewish pupils and staff facing antisemitic abuse.”

5Pillars was approached for comment.

In a response to the JC, Miller repeated his call for “De-Zionisation".
