The medic’s social media content reportedly celebrated the actions of the terror group and expressed support for violence
February 19, 2025 17:15Dr. Rahmeh Aladwan, an orthopaedic doctor employed by the NHS, has been accused of praising Hamas following the discovery of several alarming social media posts, which were uncovered by the Daily Mail’s Sabrina Miller.
Miller's investigation revealed that Aladwan's social media profile is filled with incendiary content, including posts celebrating the actions of Hamas (which is proscribed as a terrorist group in the UK) and expressing support for violence.
In one post, she shared a picture of a Hamas gunman, with the caption: “A picture of AlQassam a day keeps the Z’s [Zionists] locked away.”
Aladwan also made a separate post, which has since been deleted, mocking the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas and calling for “Zios” to “come after” her.
In another, she shared a hand-drawn graph with the words “f*** around” along one axis, and “find out” along the other, followed by the caption: “You provoke. You pushed. You prodded. You play victim. You deserve to pay. You parasitic pariah. Settlers should feel welcome nowhere. And if they tried that c*** in the UK, they’ll be met with resistance too. Seems justice is found on the streets.”
Miller’s report also cited testimony from Jewish doctors and patients alleging that Aladwan’s social media activity is part of a broader trend of NHS workers voicing support for Hamas, which is an offence under the Terrorism Act.
A Jewish doctor, speaking on condition of anonymity, shared with her their distress regarding their experiences with Dr. Aladwan: "From the moment I met her, her views were very obvious. She wore a keffiyeh [the Arabic scarf which has become synonymous with the Palestinian cause] and a pro-Palestine badge on her uniform. I was scared whenever I was around her and felt like I needed to hide my identity – at one point even lying about the origin of my name. I felt like I couldn't focus. It was very distracting."
Despite her posts, Aladwan has not been suspended from her position within the NHS.
In a video statement published on her X profile, Aladwan claimed that she had already been the subject of a GMC investigation instigated by UK Lawyers for Israel “on behalf of the settler colony on trial for genocide”.
She added that “the GMC found no basis for any of the allegations under the Terrorism Act” and that “case examiners found no realistic evidence that my fitness to practice was impaired and closed the case”.
Moreover, she called the Daily Mail report “defamatory” and “a smear piece”, suggesting that it was a “retaliation” by “the Zionists in this country” by “leveraging their ties to the media and the government” and “acting as foreign agents”.
Apparently revealing the identity of the Jewish colleague who spoke with the Mail, including publishing screenshots of their personal social media profile, she accused them of being “a supporter of the settler colony of Israel and genocide” and suggested that they “lied about a colleague who was enduring the genocide of her people” in reference to the complaint against her.
She went on: “I am very conscious of my professional ethical duties and legal obligations...I always stay within the law, even if I disagree with it.
"I have persevered but I am also a human, it has not been easy. Every time I cry, I remember one martyred child or the mother of a martyr and it fills me with determination and resistance.
"This is defamation and I will be taken legal action.”
She signed off, saying: "Free the over 11,000 Palestinians in occupation torture camps and free Palestine.”
The GMC is yet to publicly comment on the allegations against Aladwan.
