The Israeli ambassador to the UK has said that the idea of a two-state solution is no longer plausible after the October 7 attacks by Hamas.

In an interview with Sky News, Tzipi Hotovely was questioned on the Two State solution, the continued ground invasion of Gaza and claims that Israel was losing international support.

“It’s about time for the world to realise that the Oslo paradigm failed on October 7.

“On October 7, Israelis were traumatised by the worst massacre since the Holocaust.”

Hotovely also said that the war would continue as long as necessary to defeat Hamas and free Israeli hostages, and that Israel would continue with its aims regardless of the views of the international community.

She added: “If Hamas wants to surrender now and to return all our hostages, not another civilian in Gaza will die.”

The ambassador also said the plan for Gaza was to demilitarise and deradicalise the enclave, but said that Israel had no desire to govern Gaza in the longterm.

When asked if there should be a Palestinian state, Hotovely said: “Absolutely not and I’ll tell you why… Israel knows today and the world should know now that the Palestinians never wanted to have a state next to Israel."

"They want to have a state from the river to the sea. They are saying it loud and clear,"

When asked about the description of Israel’s bombings in Gaza as ‘indiscriminate’ by President Joe Biden, Hotovely defended the actions of the IDF saying Israel was doing more than othercountries in war zones.

She said:"Do you remember any country in the world creating a humanitarian corridor to the enemy? I don't remember you helping Nazi Germany during the war, and I don't remember America helping the Japanese during the Second World War,"
