Flamboyant football agent and media personality Eric Hall has died aged 73.

Initially a music promoter for acts such as Queen and the Sex Pistols, Hall became a football agent following a chance encounter with former Tottenham Hotspur player Steve Perryman.

He went on to manage Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock, Dennis Wise and John Fashanu, as well as former England manager Terry Venables.

Often seen in striking attire with a cigar, the East Ender was known for his use of Yiddish words and “monster, monster” catchphrase.

In later life, he took to radio presenting on BBC Essex and Time 107.5FM. His death was announced on Time.

Lord Alan Sugar paid tribute to Hall, describing him as a “real character”.

Footballer Stan Collymore said he was “Larger than life, great great fun.

“Rest in peace, Eric, hope there's a big Churchill waiting for you on the other side.”

Meanwhile former heavyweight boxing champion Frank Bruno MBE said he “always made me laugh”, but joked: “would I buy a car off him? No!”
