British Airways flights between London and Tel Aviv are to resume, the company announced on Monday, with a new tri-weekly service.
The first outbound flights from London Heathrow will take off on Thursday 13, with services running every Sunday, Monday and Thursday.
British Airways cancelled flights to Israel in March and had repeatedly been forced to postpone their resumption due to pandemic and restrictions on incoming travellers to Israel.
Flights for August currently priced on the British Airways website at between £227 for Thursday 27 to £369 for Sunday 16 and Thursday 13.
British Airways’ flights will now run alongside competitors’ EasyJet and WizzAir, both of which operate out of Luton.
EasyJet is offering three weekly flights, while Wizz Air are offering a once weekly service.
The Israeli government is preparing to begin reopening inbound travel from August 16, announcing that Israelis returning from ‘green countries’ – states with low Covid-19 infection rates – would not be required to undergo the mandatory 14-day quarantine period upon re-entry.
It remains unclear however, whether foreigners – who, with the exception of students, are currently banned from entering Israel – from ‘green countries’ would also be subject to the same regulations as Israeli passport holders.
Those arriving from Israel are currently required to enter two weeks’ quarantine upon their entry to the UK.
