Conservative Party co-chair Amanda Milling has held a "positive and constructive" meeting with Board of Deputies, discussing issues including claims of antisemitism against some of the party's MPs.

The JC understands that the Board, led by vice president Amanda Bowman, expressed gratitude for the continued support from the Government to the community over the past turbulent few years.

During the Zoom conference meeting on Monday, the Board’s representatives, who included director of communications Phil Rosenberg and Daniel Sugarman, the public affairs officer, raised MP Daniel Kawczynski's decision to appear alongside figures from Europe's far right at a conference in Rome.

Also discussed were Hastings MP Sally-Ann Hart, who shared a video implying that the billionaire George Soros, who is Jewish, controls the EU and then liked a comment made underneath the video that used the Nazi slogan “Ein Reich".

The meeting also discussed Lee Anderson, Conservative MP for Ashfield, who was a member of a Facebook group circulating Soros conspiracy theories.

The Board and Ms Milling also "shared ideas and best practice" around the steps needed to deal with allegations of Islamophobia across the political sphere.

Ms Milling, who was promoted to the role of party chair and Minister Without Portfolio in February as party of Boris Johnson’s Cabinet reshuffle,  is also MP for Cannock Chase.
