UJS 'disappointed' after 'proudly anti-Zionist' NUS Disabled Students Campaign backs BDS against Israel

Group commits itself to boycotting the Jewish state, a policy UJS calls a 'tired campaign that has little to no impact on the reality of the situation in Israel and Palestine'

The Union of Jewish Students has said it is "disappointed yet not surprised" after the NUS Disabled Students Campaign declared itself "proudly anti-Zionist" as it passed a pro-BDS motion at its conference.

"We do not hold Jewish or Israeli students personally responsible for the actions of the Israeli government,” said the motion that the campaign passed at its conference on Wednesday.

"We are proudly anti-racist, anti-colonial, anti-Zionist and thus support the Palestinian struggle for their liberation."

UJS President Hannah Rose said: "We are disappointed, yet not surprised, that the NUS Disabled Students Campaign have passed BDS policy at their conference.
