Shoppers scuffled at a supermarket checkout after anti-Israel protesters loaded a trolley full of products and refused to pay for them.

Young demonstrators, including children, from the Muslim Public Affairs Committee (MPAC), filmed themselves choosing Israeli products at Tescos in Barkingside, Essex.

They are seen filling the trolley with dozens of packets of chicken soup powder, melons, pickled cucumbers and herbs. One girl complains that a packet of Israeli Medjool dates are "kosher" and complains there is no alternative.

A graphic states: "Every penny spent towards these products will eventually fund these", before cutting to an image of a line of tanks.

When they reach the checkout the products are scanned in and the group puts them in bags.

But when the checkout assistant asks them to pay, they say: "We do not buy products from Israel. Every time you do, a Palestinian suffers." The assistant replies: "It's nothing to do with me."

When the store manager arrives to deal with the problem, the protesters lecture her about "moral duty".

One protester tells her: "These customers only had to wait 10 minutes. Palestinians get shot every five minutes. Every minute a Palestinian child dies."

Another shopper, queuing behind the group, then starts arguing with them and screams: "If you don't like this store in England serving you, then p*** off back to your own country. You are being racist about Jewish people."

A Tesco staff member attempts to stop the filming and the clip ends with a sign shown on the screen stating: "Tesco has just been MPACed. To be continued…"

Zionist Federation chairman Harvey Rose said: "These boycott movements in general are malevolent and counterproductive and the one in Tesco clearly irritated shoppers.

"If activists truly wanted to help the plight of the Palestinians they should work towards encouraging dialogue, not the opposite."
