The JC has won three design awards from the 17th annual European Newspaper Awards. Almost 200 newspapers from 26 countries competed for the prizes.
The JC won for the "Revealed" front page from the July 10 edition. It was also honoured for the RH Magazine front cover featuring Sarah Silverman.
In the same magazine, an eight-page photographic essay by wildlife photographer Steve Bloom picked up an award.
"It is tempting," said JC art director John Belknap, "to claim all the credit for these awards. But the truth is, many people contribute to the ideas that win design awards.
"My pleasure is working with both a great design team and a great editorial team."
