Two of the men closest to Prime Minister David Cameron have been tipped to be given peerages in a list of as many as 50 new working peers to be announced by Downing Street.

Andrew Feldman, Mr Cameron’s chief fund raiser and now joint chairman of the Tory Party, and Stanley Fink, a joint party treasurer, have been named among a large group who will augment the ranks of the House of Lords.

Mr Feldman has been a close friend of Mr Cameron since their days at Oxford University. He raised the money for Mr Cameron’s leadership campaign in 2005 and was appointed chief executive in 2008. His company Jayroma has donated £55,000 to the party since 2006.

Mr Fink is a hedge fund manager who was formerly chief executive of the MAN Group but now works alongside Lord Levy at International Standard Asset management. He has donated £1.9 million since 2003.
