Tom Cruise is among a host of celebrities who have wished Team Maccabi GB good luck as the Maccabiah Games gets underway in Israel this week.
Undefeated boxing World Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury also sent his best wishes, along with former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino, Arsenal stars Rob Holding and Emile Smith Rowe, cricket superstar Joe Root, Formula One world champion Damon Hill, and many more.
Over 500 British athletes are competing for Team Maccabi GB at the games in Israel, taking place over the next two weeks. They will be in action on Tuesday for the first time, with the Rugby 7’s team taking on Israel and South Africa.
Speaking in a 19-second video message, the global superstar sent his best wishes to all the athletes, saying: “I just wanted to wish the entire Great Britain team, especially the football and futsal teams, all the very best of luck at the upcoming games.
“I know you’ll make your family and friends proud, and I hope you bring back some medals and have an extraordinary time. Go get ‘em!”

Mr Cruise has spent a lot of time in the UK recently for the filming of various productions. He was most recently spotted at the Wimbledon tennis tournament last week, and at the Formula One British Grand Prix last weekend.
Legendary boxing star Tyson Fury also sent a video message wishing the athletes luck: "Hi, Tyson Fury here. This is a good luck message to Jack and Ben, and all the rest of the team. Smash it, guys. Good luck and all the best. God bless you.”

Jewish comedian Matt Lucas sent a message of support to Team Maccabi GB from his bedroom, noting: “I've made my bed, I’m a good boy”.
He continued: “I just wanted to wish everybody, all the GB athletes and the whole team, the very best of luck in the Maccabiah Games in Israel 2022.
“I know you’re going to make us all proud," he added with a beaming smile.
