A Jewish deli in Sheffield has been afforded the exalted status of the best bagels anywhere in the UK.
Best Boy Bagels in Sheffield topped a list compiled earlier this month by National Geographic of the seven best bagel shops in the UK, with London’s iconic Beigel Bake on Brick Lane taking the number two spot.
According to the National Geographic, Best Boy Bagels handrolls their freshly baked bagels, and come “crammed full of handmade pickles, ferments and sauces, made from locally sourced ingredients.”
Beigel Bake in London, still run by its founders the Cohen family and open 24/7, got second place on the list, while The Bagel Guys, also in London, took fifth.

Number three on the list was Bross Bagels in Edinburgh, and The Bagel Project in Nottingham was number four. The more than 30-year old family-run kosher Cooper’s Let’s Fress Deli in Manchester was sixth, while The Bagerly in Liverpool took seventh.
