St John’s Wood Synagogue associate minister Rabbi Yoni Golker has tested positive for coronavirus and is self-isolating. As a precaution, the shul's senior minister, Rabbi Dayan Ivan Binstock, is also self-isolating.

The shul announced yesterday that a congregant was “seriously ill” with coronavirus, having last attended a service on Shabbat morning on February 29. The member had "not been on the premises since”.

The SJW premises are currently closed for cleaning and the shul will be closed on Shabbat. The United Synagogue has said that members will be updated on future arrangements as soon as possible.

All other US shuls will be open on Shabbat, with many limiting or postponing kiddushim.

The US closed its head office yesterday evening for cleaning after a staff member fell unwell with coronavirus symptoms. The symptoms have not been confirmed as positive and the building will reopen on Sunday.
