It was a rousing finale to a convivial evening: the UJIA’s annual dinner in London on Monday ended with the singing of the English and Israeli national anthems, led by a group of Zionist youth leaders.

But there was one note of discord among some guests. You will notice that there is not one female face at the mike (in the picture above). Have our youth movements all gone strictly Orthodox and put a gag on singing women?
