An easyJet flight from Tel Aviv to Luton was met on the ground by police after news broke that there was a snake on board.

Those on board were terrified when the serpent was discovered in the hand luggage of one the passengers during the flight on Wednesday.

Passenger Rafi Addlestone tweeted: “No Samuel L, but an actual snake on a plane.”

Another, Michael Harris, wrote: “Just landed at Luton Airport with easyJet. Police about to board, to arrest guy who brought on a snake on the plane.”

In another comment posted on the social networking site, one of the passengers wrote: “Surprised it passed security in hand luggage… More delays with luggage as well.”

The passengers were reassured by easyJet, who responded on Twitter: “It was a non-poisonous snake and remained in its container at all times; passengers were not in any danger.”
