Amber Rose, the American model known for her relationships with rappers Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa, has revealed her unlikely Jewish roots in an Instagram post.

Rose, whose full name is Amber Rose Levonchuck told her 13 million followers she had taken part in a DNA test and was stunned by the results.

The former stripper, whose father is of Irish and Italian descent and her mother is of Cape Verdean and Scottish descent, said she discovered her family was also “part Jewish”.

Ms Rose said the news emerged during the test on an ancestry website but did not go much further to explain her apparent Jewish background.

She wrote: “Wow… my family is from Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, Cameroon, Congo, Italy, Ireland, England, Part European Jewish, Scandinavian, Polynesia, Iraq, Iran, and Kuwait.

“Damn I knew I was mixed but this is awesome.”

I swear I feel like a different person this is so cool 😎
