An action group has been formed for grassroots activists in Scotland who want to support Israel.
Scottish Israel will work as an umbrella organisation to help sub-committees deal with media relations, lobbying, rallies and educational events.
A spokesman said the 15 founding members had been spurred into action after the Palestinian flag was flown by Glasgow City Council following the violence in Gaza this summer.
He said the group would offer a "moderate message that shows compassion and balance."
Members hope to receive media training and support from the We Believe network of grassroots pro-Israel groups.
Glasgow's Jewish Representative Council and the Scottish Council of Jewish Communities have backed the organisation. Israel's deputy ambassador Eitan Naeh met the group in Glasgow last week.
Scottish Israel also plans to speak to police about the activities of the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
