Scarlett Johansson has filed for divorce from her French husband Romain Dauriac.
The Jewish star of The Avengers and several Woody Allen films could now face a custody battle over her three-year-old-daughter Rose, according to the New York’s Post's Page Six website which broke the news.
According to the publication, the actress’ lawyer Judith Poller served her husband’s lawyer Harold Mayerson with divorce papers.
The NY Post quoted Mr Mayerson as saying that Mr Dauriac “would like to move to France with his daughter and Ms Johansson does a lot of traveling”.
The couple first got together in 2012 and were married two years later after the arrival of their daughter.
The announcement follows months of speculation, as Ms Johansson has frequently been pictured without her wedding ring on. Then, last summer, it was reported that they had separated.
This will be the second divorce for the star, who was also previously married to actor Ryan Reynolds. They tied the knot in 2008, separated in 2010 and divorced a year later.
