Sarah Silverman has used Twitter to help a troll who attacked her online, offering to pay for medical bills to deal with his back pain.
The actress and comedian recieved a single four-letter-word response to a comment she tweeted about Trump supporters. Instead of ignoring or reporting the insult, Silverman read the Twitter feed of Jeremy Jamrozy - the man who attacked her - and started a conversation with Jamrozy about the underlying reasons for his unwarranted aggression.
She said: "I believe in you. I read ur timeline & I see what ur doing & your rage is thinly veiled pain. But u know that. I know this feeling... see what happens when u choose love. I see it in you." (sic)
Jamrozy revealed that he had been abused as a child and was in constant back pain, which he was unable to afford to treat. Silverman encouraged him to go to a support group to deal with his rage and drug issues.
Silverman then went a step further and mobilized her 12 million Twitter followers to find a back specialist local to Jamrozy.
Yo SAN ANTONIO! Any kickass back/neck care specialists willing 2 help my friend @jeremy_jamrozy He has several slipped discs, no insurance, & can’t work bc of severe pain. Let’s get him back on his feet!! Who’s in?

She then offered to pay for the treatment herself.
“I was once a giving and nice person, but too many things destroyed that and I became bitter and hateful,” Jamrozy told local paper My San Antonio, after having an MRI which revealed five herniated discs. “Then Sarah showed me the way. Don’t get me wrong, I still got a long way to go, but it’s a start.”
