Restaurant owner who assaulted cousin given 100 hours community service

articlemain

A restaurant owner who assaulted his cousin on the street outside the business they owned together has been sentenced to a community order of 100 hours and fined £145.

Ariel Levy, 26, of Hamilton Terrace in north-west London was sentenced in Westminster Magistrates Court on Wednesday. He must complete the community order by January 6 2017 and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60 and a Crown Prosecution Service charge of £85.

Mr Levy pleaded guilty in December to committing actual bodily harm by twice punching 28-year-old Zion Levy in the face, leaving the victim with a fractured jaw which necessitated a diet of soft foods for six weeks.

Ariel and Zion Levy own the Fiori Corner bistro in Leicester Square.

The assault happened last June. The court heard in December that since the assault Mr Levy had been “remorseful,” and had written a letter to the victim.
