Prince of Wales reveals Holocaust survivor portraits of poignancy and hope

The pictures went on display at Buckingham Palace

These remarkable portraits of seven Holocaust survivors, commissioned by the Prince of Wales, went display at Buckingham Palace yesterday.

The paintings featured in a BBC2 documentary called Survivors: Portraits of the Holocaust, which was broadcast on Holocaust Memorial Day.

The portraits are: Helen Aronson by Paul Benney, Manfred Goldberg by Clara Drummond, Lily Ebert by Ishbel Myerscough, Zigi Shipper by Jenny Saville, Arek Hersh by Massimiliano Pironti, Anita Lasker-Wallfisch by Peter Kuhfeld and Rachel Levy by Stuart Pearson Wright.

The Prince of Wales, a patron of the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, said: “My abiding hope is that this special collection will act as a further guiding light for our society.”
