A popular London venue which has hosted simchahs for more than 40 years is to close next year.
The Royal Majestic Banqueting Suite in Willesden will shut in April when owner Helen Goide retires.
Mrs Goide said: “I have so much enjoyed serving the community all these years and it has been a privilege and a great pleasure.”
She stressed that the decision was not prompted by financial considerations.
“I’m retiring and that’s the only reason,” she said.
The strictly kosher venue will continue to host simchahs over the next few months.
People who have booked functions to take place after April have had their money refunded, Mrs Goide said.
“We don’t want to panic anyone. We are continuing as normal till April with the same staff and same suppliers. We have a lot of functions booked between now and then.”
