Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer reportedly postponed plans to visit Israel last month after contracting Covid-19 days before his outbound flight.

According to the Jewish News, Sir Keir’s Shadow Foreign Secretary Lisa Nandy, who had been set to join him, said they are still planning to visit the country, though she did not confirm a date for the trip.

Ms Nandy told JN: “I was particularly keen to visit Yad Vashem. I’ve been to Israel before, but never to Yad Vashem.
“Keir was also really keen to make the visit to Israel as well. One of the other things we have planned to do was to meet with young Israelis and young Palestinians.

Sir Keir said Labour was opposed to BDS and condemned “anti-Zionist antisemitism” in remarks earlier this month.

He vowed to Israel “as soon as is possible” during a Labour Friends of Israel meeting last year.
