Antisemitic chanting by a group of men thought to be supporters of West Ham United football club is being investigated by British Transport Police.

Video footage on social media appeared to show the men chanting abuse on a Tube train on the way to the club’s game against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Anti-discrimination group Kick It Out contacted police.

In a statement, the group said it had received several reports about the footage and had also been informed of a number of antisemitic tweets which it reported to police.

West Ham said any fans found guilty of antisemitic abuse could face a life ban from the club's ground.
