Police have closed an inquiry into allegations of verbal abuse by pupils from a Strictly Orthodox Jewish secondary school.
Students from the independent Menorah Grammar School in Edgware allegedly shouted abuse at pupils and staff from the neighbouring Menorah Foundation School (MFS), a state-aided primary.
An email, which was written by Menorah Grammar’s safeguarding lead after the incident in June, said that a hate crime had been reported to police by the head of MFS.
But this week the police confirmed that the case was closed late last month.
Police said they had received “a report of racist and sexual comments made by pupils at a school in Abbots Road, Edgware” and made enquries into the allegations.
The case could be “reopened should any further evidence come to light”, police said.
Menorah Grammar has nearly 300 male students between the ages of 11 and 21 and Menorah Foundation School is a primary school for boys and girls.
