Husband and wife Philippa and David Seligman are celebrating.
Mrs Seligman has been awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Glamorgan in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the field of systemic family therapy, while David Seligman has received an honorary fellowship from Cardiff University.
Mr Seligman, 82, received his honour in recognition of his longstanding support of the Cardiff University law school and his contribution to the legal profession. Mrs Seligman, also 82, a family psychotherapist working in Cardiff, tells People: "Having been a psychotherapist for nearly 40 years, I am delighted to be given this honour. It feels strange to be graduating at my time of life. I've enjoyed my profession so much. It's hardly felt like work at all."
Solicitor Mr Seligman is a consultant with the Cardiff and London firm Capital Law LLP. Mrs Seligman worked at the Cardiff Family Institute for 12 years. The grandparents say: "Neither of us wants to retire."
