A paedophile who was convicted of sexually assaulting his young step-daughters has walked from court with just a community sentence.
The 45-year-old Orthodox Jewish man from north-west London, who cannot be identified, was given 150 hours of unpaid work as well as supervision to address his attitude towards women despite the judge saying he caused “incalculable harm” to his victims.
As the offender had already spent time in prison on remand, a custodial sentence would have been “impractical”, Judge James Patrick said.
The judge told Wood Green Crown Court that the man came from a community that was “quite patriarchal” and that he had “a view of women as inferior”.
