Three mothers who met at the gates of Moriah Jewish Day School and started a business out of a garden shed have been nominated for a national business award.
Tracey Dunn, Ellie Blacher and Martine Reuben created MediAccounts, a billing service for private medical professionals, in 2013.
Ms Dunn, 44, said her experience as a personal assistant for a consultant made her aware there was a gap in the market.
She said: “Doctors are very busy and need more help with billing patients.”
The trio have since moved from Ms Blancher’s shed and now work as part of a team of 12 out of an office in north-west London.
The company has been shortlisted in the London and South SME Growth category at the HSBC Forward Ladies Awards.
Ms Dunn, who is a member of Pinner United Synagogue, said: “It feels great. We are three working mums and I think we are proof that you can have a job and raise a family. We started with one doctor we now have more than 100.”
The award winner will be announced on September 15.
