The second wife of multi-millionaire Sir Martin Sorrell has announced the two have separated and that she is seeking a divorce.
Cristiana Falcone, 45, is an Italian economist 30 years his junior.
According to the Sunday Times Rich List, in 2019 Sir Martin had a personal worth of £368 million. He is the founder of the world’s largest advertising and PR firm WPP.
The announcement comes two years after he resigned as CEO of WPP, following allegations of personal misconduct (which he denies), including the claim that he spent £300 of company money in a Mayfair brothel in 2017.
Lady Falcone-Sorrell is the second wife to seek a divorce, after Sir Martin’s first wife, Sandra Finestone, was awarded a £30 million settlement in 2005.
In her statement, Lady Falcone-Sorrell added that, “From here on, my priority will be the interests of my daughter, and I request that the media respect my and my family’s privacy.”
Sir Martin is Jewish, and was raised in London as the son of an electronics retailer.
