The only Michelin-listed kosher restaurant in London has closed.
Bevis Marks The Restaurant, which had been open for 13 years in the City of London, shut on December 24.
In an email to customers, directors Susan and Kenneth Arfin said: “We would have hoped the restaurant would have continued as kosher and it certainly wasn't for the want of trying, but it wasn't to be.
The glatt kosher establishment, which offered a fine-dining interpretation of traditional Jewish dishes, was licensed by the Sephardi Kashrut Authority.
Earlier this year, the kosher restaurant 1701, in the grounds of Bevis Marks Synagogue, was closed down, with owners citing the limitations caused by the location.
