A Manchester Methodist church has withdrawn from hosting an event that was promoted as featuring Jackie Walker, Chris Williamson and George Galloway, following pressure from the Board of Deputies.

Ex-MP Mr Galloway once said he wanted to declare Bradford an "Israel-free zone".

Ms Walker, the former vice-chair of Momentum, is currently suspended from Labour for saying she had not found a definition of antisemitism she could “work with” – while Mr Williamson, the MP for Derby North, was suspended after saying the party had “given too much ground” in the row over antisemitism.

The JC understands that Mr Williamson has not agreed to appear at the event, although promotional material suggests otherwise.
