Theresa May has spoken to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the first time since taking over at 10 Downing Street.
The new British prime minister talked to her Israeli counterpart about global terrorism and other issues affecting the Middle East after he wished her luck in her new role.
Mrs May and Mr Netanyahu also discussed “ways in which the two countries can maintain and increase cooperation in a wide variety of fields” during the phone call, according to the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office.
The Israeli leader sent Mrs May a letter of congratulations on July 13, when she became prime minister.
