A man was thrown out of Asda in Cambridge yesterday after browsing the aisles dressed in full Nazi uniform.
Horrified shoppers spotted Paul Dutton, 48, wandering around in a black SS uniform with a cap and red armband and alerted the store manager, who asked him to leave.
Police were called to the supermarket at 2pm yesterday, but said Mr Dutton had already left by the time they got there.
Shopper Marisa Baker said: “I thought it was a Salvation Army person at first, but then I saw the tattoo on his neck and a swastika on his hand.”
“It’s not what you want to see, especially as there are children around.”
Rosina Risom added: “People’s mouths were falling open. You are not going to come out like that unless you want to draw attention to yourself.”
Following reports of the incident, Mr Dutton took to Twitter to identify himself as the Nazi sympathiser.
He said: "I've shopped in Asda since the place was opened twice a week, this is how Asda repay me for my loyalty.'
A spokesperson for Asda said: “We had a number of customer complaints so we asked him to leave the store.”
