Man charged in connection with attack on United Synagogue's burial chief

A man has been charged in connection with an attack on the United Synagogue's burial chief.

Essex Police confirmed in a statement that Simcha Hirsch, 33, from Clapton, will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday February 19.

He is charged with assault causing actual bodily harm following reports of an assault in Chigwell on December 7 last year. 

Melvyn Hartog - the US’s burial chief - was hospitalised after the incident close to his home.
