A 41 year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of inciting racial hatred following a social media posts of an extreme right wing and antisemitic nature.
The man was arrested in London this morning, as part of a pre-planned operation in north London by officers from the Crime Disruption Unit within the Met's Counter Terrorism Command.
In a statement, The Metropolitan Police said: “Detectives executed search warrants at two addresses, both in north London, as part of this investigation, which relates to social media postings of an extreme right wing, Islamophobic and antisemitic nature.
“Searches at one of the addresses are ongoing. A number of digital items have been seized at one of the properties.”
The man has been taken to a north London police station where he remains in custody.
Police said they would not provide further details at this stage “for operational reasons.”
