Former Chief Rabbi Lord Sacks has said he is “ashamed” of rising antisemitism in Britain.

Delivering ‘Thought for the Day’ on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme this morning, Rabbi Sacks said he had seen “too many good people doing nothing” to tackle the problem.

Referring to Tuesday’s Parliamentary debate on Jew-hate, he said the “unprecedented” detail about the abuse faced by MPs – and worsening statistics relating to abuse – did not reflect “the Britain I know and love”.
