A rising number of newlyweds do not know how to cook, says Cordon Bleu chef Lisa Roukin, who is doing her best to help them. Miss Roukin, 31, who has worked for London restaurants Le Caprice, Mirabelle and top kosher caterer Tony Page, has set up ‘Cook with Lisa’.
It offers a tailor-made service to anyone interested in learning to cook. The sessions take place in the client’s own home. A majority of her clients are newlyweds. “People want to know how to do traditional Friday-night dinners, including chicken soup and meatballs.”
A self-confessed foodie, she reached last year’s finals of Gordon Ramsay’s The F Word competition on Channel 4 to find a new female television chef. She then decided to pass on her love of cookery and help less confident cooks of all ages.
