Film fan Lewis Swan is sharing his love for the big screen with the launch of his new venture, Brit Movie Tours, which shows people around film and television locations throughout the UK.
Mr Swan, 37, who works in media marketing, has based the company on a US model. He tells People: “A few years ago I did a New York movie tour. When I came back to London I realised there was nothing like it here. I thought that we needed something to showcase the great movie locations we have in this country.”
Tours include: London movie locations, Harry Potter location tours, the Atonement movie tour, spy movie tours, the Notting Hill movie tour and a romantic movie tour. Among the highlights are stops at Bridget Jones’s house from Bridget Jones’s Diary and the churches from Four Weddings and a Funeral. The main aim of Brit Movie Tours is for people “to enjoy the magic of real-life movie sets”.
He added: “Movie tourism in the US is really big and we haven’t cottoned on to it yet. I want to take that on. Plus it is an alternative way to see London and the country.” Sutton-based Mr Swan is working with Film London, the Movieum of London and the National Trust, among other organisations.”
