Legal hero honoured

Solicitor Frances Goodman was due to be feted by the Law Society last night as one of its "unsung heroes". The Board of Deputies representative for Maidenhead Synagogue began her work as a criminal lawyer in the 1960s.

Ben Lansbury, managing partner of Lansbury Worthington, where she is now a consultant, said that "throughout her career she has been there for clients when no one else was listening".
