Lauren Rich, 28, has been named one of hospital radio’s top presenters. She was awarded the honour at last month’s National Hospital Radio Awards, organised by the Hospital Broadcasting Association. She picked up her accolade in the Female Presenter of the Year category.

Miss Rich, who works full-time at the movement for Reform Judaism, has been volunteering at Northwick Park hospital for the past eight years. She tells People: “The award has given me a real confidence boost. Perhaps now I will pursue my radio career. There are a lot of people who started out that way.” A professional singer-songwriter, she is in the process of recording an EP. Home is Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. She is a member of Edgware Reform Synagogue.
