Labour has decided against launching a formal investigation into the Jewish Labour Movement following the airing of the Al Jazeera series The Lobby last month.
The JC understands party officials looked into allegations against the JLM arising from the four-part series but will not pursue the case.
Al Jazeera had tried to prove there was collusion between Jewish and pro-Israel Labour groups in the UK and the Israeli embassy.
In one episode of The Lobby, JLM’s director Ella Rose was filmed in tears by an undercover reporter following an encounter with Jackie Walker, a Labour activist twice suspended over claims of antisemitism.
The programme suggested Ms Rose’s role in JLM had been compromised by the fact she previously worked at the Israeli embassy.
She was later shown discussing her opinion of Ms Walker.
Labour has decided Ms Rose’s action or behaviour did not breach any party rules.
Following the screening of the programme, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn called for an inquiry into the activities of a junior Israeli embassy aide who was filmed by the undercover reporter.
But Prime Minister Theresa May ruled out a probe and a government spokesman said Britain’s relationship with Israel remained “strong”.
