The "friendly, kind and generous" teenage son of a Hatton Garden businessman has been killed after being hit by a car.

Jourdan Deal, 19, who had ambitions to take up boxing, died of severe head injuries when he was hit by a black Renault Clio as he was crossing Regent's Park Road, Finchley last Friday evening.

Mr Deal was a business studies student at Regent's Park Business College. His family described him as a "sociable teenager" who was keen on personal training and keeping fit.

He was the son of Jonathan Deal, owner of the Heart of Hatton Garden jewellery store. He lived with his mother Renee Taubi in Belgravia. He had two half-brothers, a half-sister and a stepbrother and sister.

Mr Deal was alone at the time of the accident and pronounced dead at the scene by the ambulance services. Police spoke to the driver of the car which hit him, but no arrests were made.

Friends have placed flowers on Regents Park Road, close to where he died and members of Mr Deal's 2007 FZY tour group are planning a reunion fundraising evening, where his friends will donate money to a road safety charity.

An inquest into the death was opened this week and adjourned at North London Coroners' Court.
